Music Department
The NPAA music program offers group and individual instruction to children, youth and adults. Classes are structured to be fun and engaging gradually building in complexity to a more intricate and intensive curriculum for the aspiring musician with college or professional aspirations. Course offerings include group instruction in violin/viola, guitar, piano and keyboards, and individual instruction in guitar, piano, drums, voice, string and wind instruments.

Ages 7-12Ages 7-12
Group Keyboards
In a relaxed setting, students are introduced to beginner keyboarding. Students progress at their own pace exploring a variety of musical genres.
Group Violin
Students will be taught good violin technique including correct posture, set up, tone and intonation. In addition to learning the violin and writing their own melodies, students will also be introduced to basic conducting, improvisation, and participating as members of an ensemble.
Group Guitar
An introduction to the acoustic guitar. Students will learn basic chords, notation, tablature and popular songs from all eras and genres. The group environment lays the groundwork for learning to perform and collaborate with other musicians in front of live audiences.

VoiceGroup Voice
Group Voice
Emphasis will be placed on the development of proper vocal technique, music reading skills, harmony, and ensemble singing. Chorus members will perform throughout the year and at the end of year recital. Music performed covers a wide range of historical periods and musical styles.

Private InstructionPrivate Instruction
The Academy offers individual instrument and vocal instruction to students who desire to develop their musical abilities. Students receive the undivided attention of a highly accomplished instructor who will nurture and develop their skills and abilities. Private instruction is available in violin/viola, acoustic/electric guitar, piano, keyboards, drums, all wind and string instruments and voice. Ages7-Adult

Rock Band
Intro to Rock Band Ages 8-12
Beginner musicians with a desire to learn their favorite rock, pop and R&B tunes will love this class. Band members study classic rock styles and riffs, learn to play with other musicians, all while working to develop their own style. Students must demonstrate a committment to the band and develop a basic level of competency on their instruments.
Rock Band - Advanced Ages 13-18
Band members explore multiple musical styles including rock, pop, jazz, and R&B while mastering the art of collaborating with other musicians. Band members work towards the development of a repertiore to perform at a variety of events and venues throughout the region.
